High filler calcium powder is a term we often use when referring to the extrusion of plastic products. However, what does calcium powder really mean? Calcium carbonate is the miracle calcium powder. For the formulation of plastic products, manufacturers use surface-modified calcium powder, which is calcium carbonate. In order to increase calcium carbonate applications’ performance, applicability, and market, surface modification is an essential tool. The amount of calcium carbonate added is also categorised as high filled calcium carbonate and low filled calcium carbonate. There are plastic products that can benefit from modified calcium carbonate.

1、Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

Modified calcium carbonate, compared to ordinary calcium carbonate, particles to the original ecological particle state of uniformly distributed particles, without clumping. PVC resin has excellent dispersion and compatibility, easy plasticization, and non-stick rollers, conducive to improving processing efficiency. 4、PVC coated fabrics

Heavy calcium carbonate that has been modified can increase the compatibility of a PVC paste resin compounding method. In the case of the same amount of regular heavy calcium, a relatively low viscosity may be obtained, enhancing the bonding action with polyester base fabric. It can also lessen the amount of glue used. At the same time, it can improve the appearance of the covering substance. In the case of a 40% increase in usage, the material’s processing qualities, physical and mechanical capabilities, and thermal welding properties have no negative consequences.

5, high-density polyethylene (HDPE)

The employment of aluminate coupling agent in the calcium carbonate particles on the surface of a specified bonding, considerably increased calcium carbonate particle dispersion. The quantity of modified calcium carbonate added to high-density polyethylene (HDPE) reduced abrasion and friction work while improving anti-friction performance. 6、Low density polyethylene (LDPE)

The combination of 10g of modified calcium carbonate and 100mL of liquid paraffin had a viscosity of 4.4 Pa-s. Filling Low Density Polyethylene(LDPE) with Modified Calcium Carbonate. When the adjusted calcium carbonate percentage is 10%, the composite material exhibits good mechanical characteristics.

7、Polypropylene (PP)

The surface of light calcium carbonate is modified using the coupling agent tetrahydrofuran homopolymer ether (PTHF). It may lower the oil absorption value of calcium carbonate by 22% and the contact angle by 68.6°. The modified calcium carbonate was put into polypropylene and evenly distributed throughout the material. To some extent, it may ameliorate the diminishing trend of tensile strength. As a consequence, the composite has a 28.47 % elongation at break and an impact strength of 6.7 kJ/m2.

8、ABS plastic

The dispersion of nano calcium carbonate in organic medium has been enhanced following surface modification. It will be utilised in ABS resin to convert the surface from hydrophilic to lipophilic. It can improve the mechanical qualities of ABS resin. Such as impact strength, tensile strength, surface hardness, bending strength, and thermal qualities such as heat deflection temperature.
